2009 Membership Application

Mission
The Left Bank Art League (LBAL) is committed to
supporting, expanding, encouraging and furthering
interest in the visual arts among its members and
throughout the Greater Quad City Community. LBAL is a
non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization.

Philosophy
LBAL believes that the visual arts are enhanced through
the gathering of artists to encourage each other in their
pursuit of fine art and by reaching out to the community
through support of educational and charitable endeavors.

Origin
LBAL was founded in February of 1956 by a group of
local artists gathered together by Jean Huber and later
headed by Leon Wright, both local teachers. The group
held their meetings in the East Moline Library. Today, a
five member elected Executive Board and several
Directors head the organization of over 160 members.

Membership
Membership is open to all individuals (16-years and older)
who create fine art or are interested in the advancement
of fine art opportunities in the community. Membership is
also available to students who receive LBAL scholarships
or are sponsored by a LBAL member. Dues are paid
annually.

Meetings
LBAL holds its' monthly business meeting on the fourth
Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM at:
Christ Episcopal Church
1717 8th Avenue
Moline Illinois

This program is partially supported by a grant from the
